And Now Back to Our Regularly Scheduled Programming

Welcome to our weekly snapshot of TV by the numbers, highlighting the most-watched shows and networks for November 27 through December 3, with insights from Inscape, the currency-grade smart TV ACR data provider and data technology division of Vizio. Data is linear, live TV only and includes all episode types (new and reruns). Rankings are by percent share duration (i.e., time spent watching).

TV schedules got back to normal after Thanksgiving, but football still retains its hold over watch-time: NFL games accounted for 6.72% of minutes watched, while college football, including multiple conference championship games, racked up a 4.63% viewership share.

Some additional insights about the top programming on TV:

  • With back-to-back nights of “The Playoffs” episodes, The Voice moves up to No. 16 from No. 22 previously with a 0.49% viewership share.

  • Multiple news programs return to the ranking after schedule breaks due to the holiday: On the Fox News side, America’s Newsroom with Bill Hemmer & Dana Perino moves up ten slots to No. 18 week-over-week, while America Reports with John Roberts and Sandra Smith lands at No. 22 (up from No. 34). Looking at broadcast networks, ABC World News Tonight With David Muir rises from No. 40 to No. 23 and NBC Nightly News With Lester Holt takes No. 24 (up from No. 27).

  • Additional week-over-week ranking newcomers include The OT (No. 10), The Price Is Right (No. 15) and PGA Tour golf (No. 25).
