Hot List: 20 TVREV Originals From 2025

"The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience, but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy” - MLK, Jr.

Remember back in the day when everyone in TV talked about change but it didn’t happen? Yea, not so much anymore.

e.g, it’s not when AI changes TV, it’s how will it continue to— Meta, Netflix, Amazon, TikTok, Apple, YouTube all use AI to transform workflows, manipulate attention, create new behaviors, gain market share and (along the way) turn notions of paid TV into “legacy systems”. And they did so with authenticated users at a time when TV was broadcasting to a guesstimated audience.

Now with streaming there is a chance for legacy to fight back—but it will take bundles and new data systems, plus TV’s integrated with shopping platforms and remaking the airwaves. It will require thinking about the place of social video and a new way to agree on what constitutes TV, anymore, anyway.

At least those are some of the many things covered in this week’s Hot List round up of 20 TVREV originals to give you enough food for thought and exclusive data to full you up for the journey ahead.

Now with More Scoops!

In addition to hot takes that include references to “rizz” from the beloved Alan Wolk, Tim Hanlon, John Cassillo, Eleanor Semeraro and others, we are so very excited to extend a very warm welcome to veteran editor at large Jon Lafayette who is now bringing some fresh TVREV scoops to your inbox.

Stay tuned this week for the launch of our new CES video series, some announcements about our forthcoming reports, webinars, dinners, Thought Leaders Circle gatherings and more. If you’re not joining in, you’re missing out!
