Leveraging The Creator Economy For Enhanced E-Commerce Experiences

DALANEY THOMPSON: And from a content creator standpoint outside of the user experience, influencers are really leveraging. They're influencing a lot. They're influencing the end user and how consumers are buying products but they're also influencing the ad agencies a bit as well because they're seeing how effective it is to have those recommendations and to have the ease and convenience of purchasing something right off of a video. So going back again to this kind of omnichannel very layered of what everyone needs to do, you now have the ability to create a link with a curated list of items beneath a video that you could send out through email and SMS and that's huge.

EVAN SHAPIRO: So for people who make their livings in the creator economy, they have to see themselves as much more as a content creator they have to see themselves as a business and a lot of their business is going to be on behalf of brands trying to create sales. Now they can take better credit --with a product like this again suddenly they become their own Amazon. They give the power to the consumer to choose any cart that they want— so here's a product— here are these leggings I'm promoting in my video. You can choose whichever cart you want to buy them at— so whichever shop offers this product and also so the Creator, if I'm not getting this wrong, now controls the data of the consumers that they're driving here and there on behalf of these products, so they gain better leverage with the advertising agencies and the advertisers they're working with.

DALANEY THOMPSON: And you're not losing them to your competitors as we were discussing before,

ALAN WOLK: You can probably use them for comparison shopping too, maybe different prices and different things.

DALANEY THOMPSON: There's so many ways you can utilize this functionality and again that's where the customization comes into play here.
