NBA Playoffs Top Mage’s Kentucky Derby Win

NBA playoffs action beat out the 149th Kentucky Derby for watch-time Saturday, dunking a 6.14% viewership share, according to Inscape, the currency-grade smart TV ACR data provider and data technology division of Vizio.

The Kentucky Derby, which saw three-year-old Mage win the crown, came in second with 5.44% of all live, linear minutes watched that day.

Split coverage of another crowning, the Coronation of King Charles III, nabbed the No. 4, 5, 6, 8 and 9 spots. The NBC News Special: The Coronation of King Charles III was the most viewed coronation program, taking No. 4 with 1.84% of watch-time for the day. CNN’s broadcast followed (1.77%), then ABC’s (1.65%), Fox News (1.31%) and CBS (1.16%). 

Across the whole weekend (May 6-7), NBA stayed on top at 5.50% with the derby taking a distant second at 2.71% of minutes watched. NBC’s coronation coverage dropped to No. 10 for watch-time (0.91%) across the weekend.
